Chef Elie (Eli) Kachlon is a dynamic chef that creates unforgettable and innovative Mediterranean food. He is meticulous about the cooking process and takes great pride in sourcing local, fresh ingredients for his distinctive dishes. Chef Eli grew up in Israel, and has been working in kitchens for most of his life. He pursued his dream of cooking professionally when he attended Tadmor Culinary School in Israel. Upon graduation, he worked in some of the most renowned restaurants in Tel Aviv.
After moving to America, Chef Eli worked in several of New York’s most well respected and highly acclaimed restaurants, including the two Michelin star rated Gordon Ramsay at the London and the one Michelin star rated Oceana. His extensive foreign and domestic work experience has bred a strong understanding and appreciation for culturally accurate cuisine. However, his recent tutelage in America has inspired him to embrace the individual characteristics and strengths of the local Mediterranean cuisines, but to merge these distinctive elements into cohesive dishes that all share a modern American touch.
As the Executive Chef of Novo, Chef Eli brings a new and inventive approach to the classic Mediterranean cuisines. He takes full advantage of the freshest local meats, fish and produce while incorporating the best imported Mediterranean ingredients.
